The Attorney General of India, R Venkataramani, has submitted his views to the Supreme Court regarding petitions challenging the electoral bond mode of funding political parties. He stated that citizens do not have a fundamental right to know the source of these funds and cautioned the court against entering the policy domain for regulating electoral bonds. The Attorney General argued that the scheme does not violate any existing rights and ensures clean money is contributed. He also emphasized the importance of parliamentary debates on such matters.
