Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, claiming that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader has "lost his mind after going to jail." The remark came during a public rally where Adityanath criticized Kejriwal’s governance and accused him of making baseless statements to divert attention from allegations of corruption.
Adityanath’s comments referred to recent developments involving senior AAP leaders, including alleged controversies linked to Delhi’s excise policy and other administrative decisions. Without directly naming the context of the "jail" remark, Adityanath sought to portray Kejriwal as a leader under pressure and losing credibility.
“Kejriwal’s behavior has become erratic, and his statements are far from reality. It seems that the burden of accountability is overwhelming him,” Adityanath stated.
In response, the Aam Aadmi Party dismissed the comments as a political ploy, alleging that the BJP is attempting to malign its leaders ahead of upcoming elections. AAP spokespersons have reiterated that the party remains committed to its vision of governance and accused the BJP of using smear campaigns to shift focus from pressing public issues.
The exchange marks the latest in an ongoing political battle between the two leaders, both known for their sharp rhetoric and contrasting governance models.
