Gehlot, Pilot make Cong list, 3 who skipped CLP meet left out

Congress announced on Saturday its first list of 33 candidates for the Rajasthan polls, the limited number suggesting that the party is rethinking on a few seats belonging to confidants of CM Ashok Gehlot, but insiders claiming it was a carefully crafted move to showcase youth to appeal to young voters. The short list elicited surprise, and some irritation, from party politicians. The list includes 29 sitting MLAs, with sure-shot names like Ashok Gehlot, Sachin Pilot, CP Joshi, Govind Dotasara, and Harish Chaudhary.
