Amid war in Gaza, India to host virtual G20 meet today

Against the backdrop of the Israel-Hamas conflict, a major gathering of global leaders will take place on Wednesday, when the world’s largest economies and the African Union come together for a virtual meeting of the G20, convened by India. While Russian President Vladimir Putin will make an appearance at the G20 for the first time in at least two years, US President Joe Biden will not be present due to Thanksgiving and will be represented by treasury secretary Janet Yellen.
